I have huge problem with my Lenovo laptop.
I have it for few yers now I belive, and it overheats allmost instantly.
Everest shows constant 105C degrees, laptops K-board is extremly hot on middle left side, and I can't even run simple 3D game without it lagging incredibly.

I even took it out outside, where it became ice-cold. And I could frey eggs on it five minutes later.

Have anyone else enqountered same problems? It becomes a real pain.

If you have ubuntu installed you can try python script from: http://github.com/marle/LenovoFan. It's automatically adjusting fan speed according to CPU temperature. Most of time fan speed is set to 1900-2000rpm and it's noiseless :)

Hi Quad, you should be able to find it on lenovo website. Just go to the latest bios page 1.18 and at the bottom of the page, there should be list of previous bios version :) Hope it helps.

I have the same issue :(. I left my SL 500 to make it's updates last night and now the fan is running at full speed all the time. The strange fact is that I have a very special SL 500 i guess, because i can't find anything on the lenovo website about it. The machine type is 2746-AAG. Now where should i go to downgrade to the 1.16 BIOS version?
